Study on New Ventures' Environmental Operation and Financial Performance: Based on Chinese GEM Data of Environment Protection Enterprises

Abstract

Enterprises always face the contradiction between economic efficiency and environmental protection. This research focus on new environment-friendly ventures' environmental operation: environment inputs and environmental innovation. By extending and integrating theory of sustainable development, we propose hypotheses about the impact of environment inputs and innovation on the performance of environment-friendly firms. We analyzed data from Chinese GEM of environment protection firms. The results show that environmental inputs have a negative effective on environment-friendly ventures' performance and verify there is a positive relationship between environment innovation and financial performance.
