In Chinese History the Social Self-criticism Promoting the Formation and Development of the Chinese National Spirit
Abstract
The Chinese nation is a nation which has strong self-critical spirit. From the view point that the social self-criticism has a profound impact on the development of Chinese national sprit, there are two climaxes of social self-criticism in Chinese history, which occurred in The Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States and the May Fourth Movement of 1919. Chinese social self-criticism embodies the Chinese nation's consciousness of crisis. Especially in the distress time of Chinese nation, the speech and theory of people with great ideals and strong will reflect the profound social self-criticism, also can guide the nation to carry out deep self-examination and self-criticism for its own national characteristics and behavior.
