Proposals for Export Pharmaceutical English Instructions from the Perspective of Foucault’s Discourse Analysis Theory

Abstract

Upon the analysis of export situation of domestic drugs, this essay finds theoretical support from Michel Foucault’s discourse analysis theory (including “external systems of exclusionâ€, “internal systems of exclusionâ€, and “restrictions on discourse subjectâ€), probes into the writing features of English medical instructions in view of some social factors, and finally brings about some favorable writing guidance for export pharmaceutical English instructions.
