The Simplicity of Sculpture Art under Aesthetic Vision

Abstract

The subject of present aesthetic is established and developed by the scholars, such as Alexander Gottlieb Baumgarten, Immanuel Kant, Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, etc. The theory has strong self-sufficiency and does not have much influence on the artistic creations. Hegel is quite disdainful about the theoretical works, such as “Arts Poetica†by Quintus Horatius Flaccus, which was trying to guide the art creation in the history of aesthetics. In Hegel's own words, the aesthetics does not have to prescribe for the artists. As Arthur Danto described in the "The abuse of beauty", the relationship between aesthetics and art, like the relationship between the bird science and birds, the birds would completely ignore the bird science. The form of sculpture cannot become the all-inclusive eternal existence, but only to select the most fertile existence. Therefore, the temporality would be integrated into the existence of spatiality, and it would make the form of sculpture present the character of simplicity.
