Seeking for Moral Force—Ku Hungming’s Translation of Confucian Classics
Abstract
Ku Hungming (1957-1928) was a Malaysian Chinese translator whose translations were mainly Confucian classics. This thesis analyzes Ku Hungming’s education experience and how his thoughts formed. It also tries to explain the reasons why Ku Hungming chose to translate the Confucian classics as well as his special translation skills used in The Discourses and Sayings of Confucius.
