This article starts the research of the compare of Chinese medicine and Western medicine through the review and analysis of the historical literature, the development of traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine, the reason of forbidden some Chinese medicine and Western medicine, the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine to treat disease and so on. The comparison objectively of Chinese and Western medicine, the difference and unity of realization correctly of Chinese medicine and Western medicine to in science, which make better understanding by people of Chinese and Western medicine and can more clear development strategy and direction of the motherland medicine
